for 4 painted turtles?

will 120 gallon work?

right now they are not full grown and they live in 29 gallon and seem to do very good and very happy for along time now but they are growing and i want to know what size i need for when they are full grown?

they dont fight or anything and have tons of room right now in the tank they are in atm but i am looking to get a bigger one asap

If you want to keep them all together you will need a huge tank, and that's only if they get along forever (they don't always). The rule of thumb is 10 gallons per inch of turtle, so if your four turtles averaged 10 inches full grown, that would mean you would need a 400 gallon tank or pond. You might want to look at stock tanks, they're a lot cheaper than glass aquariums, especially at that size.

Well, in my humble opinion, I don't think you can keep 4 turtles in an aquarium. They are to un-predictable. It's like a shoot and miss, sometimes turts will get along great!! Other times you can give them all the room in the world, and they will still fight!!! I had my two little guys in a 240 gallon tank(the recommend size for two full grown female sliders) AND THEY STILL FOUGHT EACH OTHER!! I would be looking into a large pound, or multiple set-ups(either aquariums, stock tanks, or RubberMaids.). The recommended size aquarium for four turtles, is about 400 gallons(which is ridiculous), and they still might fight!! So, if you can afford a tank that large, good for you!!(I sure wish I could ) But be prepared to separate the tank if necessary. If you can't go that big, then go AS BIG AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN AFFORD!!! It might be a time to consider giving away one, or two of your turts. I can barely afford two turts, I have no idea how you are doing it with four!!!!

Painteds stay 5~7 inches....so a 155 gallon tank or a 130 would be fine.

my hubby's mom wants a turtle so i might give her 2 of mine and keep the other 2 for me but she loves to come over and watch the 4 i have
