Habitat - Indoor :: I sucked it up...

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Post Posted: Sun Oct 28, 2007 4:53 pm   I sucked it up...

...and spent an additional $93 on my three turtles today. =X

But I'm excited since they will now have more proper set-ups. I got two basking docks and two visi-therm stealth heaters and they should arrive next week! Poor kids have to settle for smaller tanks than normal though, since I have no place for a giant tank. =( I think they'll be happier though, compared to what they were used to (the two baby RES were in one of those tiny acrylic critter holders, and the Mississippi Map was in a BOX for two days without water to swim in for Pete's sake).

I'll post pics when they're all done!

Oh, any ideas how to get water into a big tank without having to bail water bucket by bucket?

cool! You could get a python. I have heard they work really well on getting water in and out of tanks. They usually sell them- 25ft, 50ft, 75ft, or 100ft. You could get them online.

Oh yes, get a Python! It's one of the best investments you will make. Print out the page from Petsmart's online store and bring it to the real store, you'll save a fair bit of money that way, and won't have to pay for shipping. (assuming there's a Petsmart near you) And good job on hooking up your turtles, they're going to love it :D

Yeah, any kind of hose you can hook up to a faucet works great, but I looooove my pythons. It makes draining the tank a lot quicker too.

Do you mean the suckers are sticking to the wall of the tank too tightly? Try prying them loose with a knife.
