Hey, everyone, I have a 125 Gallon tank, and was wondering if anyone knew how to help tackle the lighting issue, can i find something long enough for it or would i have to use 2 smaller ones? the measurements make it impossible to fit 2 lighting fixtures, because of the glass block in the middle. If you have any ideas Id love to hear 'em.
If it's for the turtle's welfare, having a spot light for basking and a UVB bulb pointed at the basking platform is the best thing for them. If you want lighting fo the other side, I am sure you can find a strip light that size.

For a tank that size, I'd get a good mercury vapor bulb like a T Rex 100 watt flood light bulb. It's an all in one bulb appropriate for larger setups. It provides heat, light and UVB. It requires a good ceramic fixture as it gets very hot. It's more expensive but lasts longer so is probably a better buy in the long run. You might consider mounting the fixture on the wall so it hangs straight down over the basking area.

Sure - I was intended to suggest that you use lights over both sides of the aquarium - an MVN over the side where the basking platform is and a tube fluorescent over the other side - so that the whole thing would be lit. But however you actually accomplish it is up to you.
