:?: i always wanted to get a turtle dock, but when i feel the texture of it, it feels like it will desinigrate in the water....

i have a river rocks as a baking area.....however the water level is only 4 inches.....

i want to raise it with a turtle dock, but it feels like it would disinigrate and i dont want to put so much rocks, it will collapse.

please tell me about turtle docks or any other ideas....

thank you!

are you talking about a zoo-med floating one? alot of people here use those and really like them. if you do get one turn the bars upside down so the one going across is on top. smaller turtles have been caught in them and drowned.

personally i use one from doctors foster and smith

i really like the one i have.

if you dont like any of those you could always build an above tank platform.

The zoo med docks definitely will not disintegrate. Why don't you give it a try. Take all the rocks out, fill the tank with water (leaving 5 or 6 inches at the top so the turtle can't escape) and put in the dock and see what happens.

Your turtle(s) will thank you.

I've had mine for 7 months now and it looks exatcly as it did 7 months ago. Except there's a bit of algae on it.

and the bar thing, yea, you should make sure the horizontal bar is on top, although you have to make sure they can't use it as a boost to escape. I didn't switch mine up, I just stuffed some plastic plants behind the bar. :D

I've used three sizes of the turtle docks now and I really like them! It's nice that it adjusts with the water level and they definitely don't disintegrate.
