Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

I just checked on my little pint and noticed that he was floating about an inch under the surface by the heater, head kind of tucked in and eyes closed. Do they sleep underwater like that? I havnt noticed it before.
Thanks

Yes they sleep in the water. As long as he is active during the day, eating and swimming fine then it's nothing to worry about.

They sleep underwater, but I thought they usually sleep on the ground...

My turtle sleeps just under the surface with her nose above the water. Once in a while, she sleeps on the bottom of the tank, but that's rare.

My turtles usually sleep on the bottom of the tank or on their submerged platform. Some smaller turtles kind of hang on to a plant or filter with their heads just below the water line.
