Habitat - Indoor :: Is my Turtles growth rate ok?

I've had my turtle for about three -fourths of a year and hes about an inch and a half? I feed him vegetables and reptomin pellets and will soon give him live food(in about a month or so). Hes getting new lighting next week because his old set broke. Is he growing at an ok rate?

I'm not sure, but it seems like he should have grown more in that time period. You do need to be careful that they don't grow too fast, but i think he should be bigger than that. What is your setup and feeding schedule like?

My setup is a ten gallon tank with decorations a nd stuff.(I know, im gona get a 30-50 in the next month or so) and he eats reptomin treats, shrimp, krill and reptomin food sticks.As ive said before hes gona get live food soon as well. Hes has a fluval 2 plus filter which i thought was ok.

Do you have a UVB lamp and a basking area?

for now no, but my new one should get here next week.

That is a big detriment to his health. I think the combination of the small tank and the lack of proper lighting has resulted in his stunted growth.

Have you actually measured him, or are you just guessing? Turts are really hard to measure with just a guess.

How much are you feeding? A little one like yours needs as much reptomin pellets every day as would fill his/her head if it were hollow. In addition, he/she should have all the green leafy things he/she wants. There should be a cuttlebone in the tank for snacking. Maybe once a week they can have a treat like some feeder fish or an earthworm or a shrimp.
