Hi, I have had my turtle for a few months now and she is doing great but it seems im not filling the tank enough, how do i create a raised basking area and still have enough water for her to swim? how can i create some sort of platform without having to pay through the nose for something cheap? help!! thanks, Rachel

You mean an above-the-tank basking area? Look in the Photo Gallery for ideas.

Or you could just get a floating dock. You can get them online for pretty cheap.

Some people use egg crates on their sides and then put a tile or other surface on top to weight it down and to give the turtle a dry basking area... the only problem with that is that it's a fixed height and limits your water level.
Suction cup floating docks are cheap, I personally think they're the simplest solution for basking areas.
