Habitat - Indoor :: heater position/uvb question

i have a 20 gal, with a filter made for a 65 gal filter. its a 20 gal long, so its like two 10 gallons right next to each other. i have the heater all the way on the right side of the tank, facing up. and the filter on the left side. will the heater heat the water in the whole tank, or since its only on the side of the tank, only half the tank will be affected by the heater, while the other half is colder? also, how far should i place a uvb light from the basking area? its a 5.0 bulb. Thanks

As long as the water is circulating, then both sides would be about the same temperature. I'd keep the 5.0 bulb about 8" away depending on the type and brand.

Yes, aslong as the water cirulates in the tank, and the heater is rated for a 20 gallon tank or larger, then the will be the same temp.

If you position the water heater somewhat near the outflow of the filter, it will help the heat circulate more evenly.

What kind of UVB light are you using (brand and type)?
