Sweet! That's going to be one huuuge tank! Will they deliver and carry it into the house for you? That tank will easily weigh 300lbs or more. Also when it's filled with water and dirt it will probably weigh more than 1000lbs so you might want to make sure your floor can support that much weight. That's going to be a very nice setup! :D

yeah i'm pretty excited...i'm figuring they'll have about 100 gallons worth to actually swim in so yes, it will probably be around 1000 lbs altogether....i'm not really worried about the floor--we live in a 1 level home that i believe has a concrete foundation....not even crawl space under the house....we will have to pick it up ourselves...but it's a 2 hour drive, we have a minivan to tow it in and we can pull that right up to our back door and plan on putting it just inside the door against the wall so no more than 10ft of moving it, plus saves a lot of money .....i do want to build a stand for it (i could buy one but their stands are twice the price of the aquarium) to aid with filtration, plus will look cooler and was planning on getting my friend to help me with that.....any suggestions on reinforcement of that kind that can still be aesthetically pleasing from the outside??......planning on the base being about 2.5' tall.....[/i]

For a stand if you plan on building it yourselves you should use some 4x4 posts for the uprights and maybe 2x6's for the horizontal framework. Then you can cover the outside with cabinet grade plywood and finish moulding. Or if you know anyone who does commercial welding you might be able to get them to fabricate a nice iron stand for pretty cheap. you could then box that in with wood paneling or any other material for that matter. Definitely post some pics when you get it set up! :)
