Habitat - Indoor :: Heater Question

Hi everyone,

Ok I bought a heater! Thanx to everyone who gave me a heads up on what to buy. I got a Visthermal whatever.]
Ok so what I want to know is does it get hot to the touch. I've got it in the tank and it doesn't appear to be getting warm on the outside.

If it's underwater, and the temperature of the water is cooler than the temperature you've set on the thermostat, then the heater should feel somewhat warm if you grab ahold of it. It won't feel hot because the heat quickly dissipates in cool water.

If the water is already warm enough, the heater won't come on, so will not feel warm.

Other question......the turtle likes to stand on it, he climbs on anything he can. When the heater does get warm will it harm him? I have it fully submerged.

The turtle should be fine. My stealth heater never feels that warm to the touch either, but I know it's working because the temperature of the tank water never drops below the temp I have the heater set for.

Yeah, my turtle puts his feet on the heater all the time and it never hurts him.
