Habitat - Indoor :: New 75G Tank

So I've had my turtles for about a year now. Bought them when they were half-dollar size.



And since then they've gone through many homes. They started out with one of those 20G "reptile" tanks and quickly moved up to a 55 gallon that went through many stages.








They were perfectly happy in the 55 but a local petstore was having a clearance and selling 75G for $99 so I couldn't let the offer pass me by.

Now this is their new home. I haven't come up with a basking platform yet but I will post pictures of the platform tomorrow as soon as I come up with an idea.

Its a wooden "box" on top of the tank with screen sides. The lights are resting on a grate from a grill and I'm using two XP3 filters.







Any suggestions for the platform?

Wow! Your turtles are beautiful and you have such nice setups for them! I love the way you even made stairs for them to get up to their basking platform. That new tank looks great and the above tank basking box looks really cool too!

I used a 16"x16" piece of ceramic tile for my new basking platform but unfortunately it was just a hair too short to sit on top of the tank frame so I cut two pieces of strong glass long enough to sit inside the lip of the top frame and then used silicone to cement the tile on top of that. Then I just used some eggcrate material for a ramp.

They're shells are gorgeous! You're obviously doing a great job! I love the pictorial to go with you narrative. Anyways, I know Home Depot and Lowes both have plexiglass that they will cut down to size for you. Would that not work? I don't know anything about indoor habitats, but I like brainstorming ideas and I know my way around the home improvement stores! If not, I know a local plastics place that would have it in thicker sizes if something more substantial is needed. maybe you might have one in your area too?
