Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

i noticed for a long while now that since skittles is a res, her "ears" are not very red comparing to the ones i see on tv or my bf's mom's turtles. in fact, hers is more like a light pink color/barely there... is that normal or is there something wrong? she eats pretty good and moves around alot.. ive caught her sleeping once ( 1st night in her new set up) i was afraid that the water was too cold so i put the lamp back on and saw she had her eyes closed.. took her out and tapped and called her. i was checking to see if she was ok and she woke up.. shes a deep sleeper like me lol. i was curious on what ur thoughts would be on the not so red "ears" of hers. thanks!

It's perfectly normal for some red earred sliders to have pale ears. That's just normal color variation in a RES.

I'd be careful about waking her up out of a sleep by picking her up and tapping on her though. It would be pretty scarey for a turtle to be awakened like that. Especially while she's in a new place she should have plenty of peace and quiet so as to settle in comfortably.
