General Care Discussion :: questionable injury on head...

so in gathering pictures today, i noticed these strange marks on patsy's head.....on the top, and indentations, not swelling.....the one on the right is much smaller and just looks like a white spot in the picture but i think it's part of her skin(??) peeling back, because i can push it back flat over the area....the one on the left looks like it's had more time to heal, though when i felt it, it seemed softer than the rest of her head....



i'm planning on calling the vet on monday, but was just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this on one of their turtles in the past....is it a sign of aggression from hank??.....though smaller, and apparently a girl, not a boy, she is the one usually nipping, not patsy....and it's always very gentle, kinda like when a cat grooms another cat.....they could be fighting when i'm not looking though i guess......

also, what exactly is that on top of the head???...shellish material, skin, what??.....should it be soft anyway right behind the eye like that??....i didn't think to check the other side of her head, but i'm not gonna get her out again tonight......

The picture is not very clear, but if you don't have another turtle in the tank (who could nip at this one), it possibly could be a fungus. Are there any spots on the legs or tail? Is the turtle shedding skin as well?

I don't know what you mean by what's on top of the head---areyou asking what the head consists of? By soft behind the ear (the red streak?) is there a lump there at all? If so, it possibly could be an abcess (I don't notice one in the picture, though).
