I bought two sliders in September and noticed that one had some small grayish lesions on his shell. I checked online and came to the conclusion that he had shell rot. I followed the instruction on how to care for this problem for about a month and he never got any better. I am a little worried about him, because he has not grown nearly as big as the other turtle, though he remains the more rambunctious of the two. I am now convinced that he has only some scarring and wonder if he will eventually shed off enough shell to make the scars go away, or if there is anything special I can do for him to help him get bigger. I have been using a calcium block and water treatment, but I don't know if this is enough. Please help.
