White on RES turtle’s face

I’ve had my RES turtle Fred for 13 years now. Lately he has whiteish marks on his face that are worrying me (see pic below).

He has been swimming against the glass of his aquarium a lot lately. He has done this for many many years, however I have just noticed it has been a lot lately. Could this be bruises on his face from swimming against the glass aggressively? Or could it be something else? If it is in fact bruising, I would think it would hurt and he would stop doing it, but when I sit with him he continues doing it as if he is in no pain at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Weird, but my earlier reply did not show up. Anyway, I think it looks normal, especially in melanistic males. As long as the skin is intact, you both should be fine. Welcome to the forum.
