I agree with Steve here on having turtles in a outdoor set up that is more suitable for gravid or nesting turtles. I am having a huge tuff tub customized and attached actually to a high toddler swimming pool for nesting purposes . I have large waterland tubs coming from the Daytona show but frankly I am not amused with the waterland tubs nesting areas being so small. Breeding wise they are great however.

Some good indicators are is if she seems to be restless in the tank without wanting to bask for days is a possibility that she may be gravid. Take that like a sign that she is confused on where she wants her eggs to be laid. Her personality will change all together from her normal activities. Most will stop eating as well, this goes for pretty much all reptiles as well if gravid. If you have a land area and she is up on it stretching her back legs back and forth, is also an indicator that she wants to dig her nest to lay the eggs but also note that females even without being with a male, can drop eggs not fertilized and unfortunately lay them in the water. Those eggs would not be good and just go on and throw them away. You can also feel the eggs if you just gently press inward just a tiny bit, and the eggs will press against your fingers their selves but do this gently.
