Hello! Hope you guys and your turtles are doing fine!

I've got a question, what types of plants can be put in a tank?

To be honest, RES will destroy any plant that they come across, and the result is a clogged filter. I prefer to have no plants, but if you're dead-set on it you could use water hyacinth, water lettuce, most (if not any) of the Swords, Anacharis, Elodea, et cetera...Basically, you're looking for large hardy plants.

I had plastic plants for a long time, which my turtles loved when they were little. When they got bigger, the plants were more of an annoyance to them, and they'd got their feet caught on them a lot. So I took them out.

Nowadays, I go to the beach and collect really big rocks and seashells, then wash them well and put them in the tank. If I feel like it, I might buy a tank backdrop with a bunch of plants on it, lol XD

Like Jeremiah said, turtles will try to eat any plant you put in there. It's really not worth the hassle.

Hurricane - RES, 8 yo, 6 1/2 in. long
Typhoon - RES/Map hybrid, 8 yo, 7 in. long
Sadie - RES, 20 yo, 10 in. long
Sophie - Colombian red tail boa, 5 yo, 5 ft. long
