Questions on filters.

I know some of you say that the fluval FX 6 is the best filter... but what is the best <cheap> filter? xD It's just at the moment I have other expenses so it's more for a quick fix kind of thing but that can be good on its own.

I was thinking of buying a pond filter since for the same price of the fx 6-- they have a rating for 2000gph! Talk about overkill! But I don't know if they work the same way in the tank as the canister filters do...

What about this?

Rated for 2000 litres ( I think that's 500+ gallons)?

That filter seems fine, as long as your tank doesn't have any more than 1,000L.

Do you guys think that's enough filtration for the tank....?

1,000L is litres. Not sure you needed 2 filters but yes they will be fine. Consider some bio media like ceramic rings to put in them or at least one. You can also put purigen and carbon in them or one.

Don't expect your filters to pick up everything on the bottom of your tank. Filters are more about filtering the water. A lot of people assume that a huge filter will take care of food and poop on the bottom of the tank. That's just not the case. I thought the same thing when I got my fx5. I bought a maxi jet to help kick up the debris on the bottom of the tank. It helped a lot. It also depends on your substrate.

Well as for substrate I was going to leave it blank, but then I decided to use black sand... I love the look of it.

I am hoping to get a 220 gallon tank (70+ inches long, 24inches or 30inches wide and 30inches tall)

He does! Very nice custom builds too and some good ideas that I will eventually steal.

Oh I'd like to see them. I am thinking of upgrading once I get a new job to a 125gallon.

I do have pictures of both tanks but I'm not sure on what thread to find them in? I use a phone for this site and its time consuming. If Steve can find them and post them that would be great! I can take a picture of my 300 but it will take a little while.
