Hi there, I just learned about pyramiding and am concerned my turtle has it. It's my guess that he's a little over a year old (not exactly sure), and gets 8 pellets a day and regular veggies. After reading about pyramiding I'm planing on cutting his pellet intake in half and increasing his vegetables. Does he look like he already has pyramiding? I'm so worried.

It doesn't look too bad and should smooth out after a few sheds. What kind of pellets are you using?

In addition to vegetables, you can mix in some lower-protein pellets like Zoo Med or veggie based pellets (i.e., algae wafers or Hikari Cichlid Excel). You can use Hikari Wheat Germ if the turtle has any shedding difficulties.

I'd try to mix it up... Omega One and Mazuri are well regarded among keepers. Wheat Germ is in my mix as well.
