My turtle normally generates several large pieces of poop a couple times each day, but for close to a week I haven't seen any (I check pretty often to see if I need to net it out, so I doubt she's eating it). I recently started including more algae wafers in her diet, since she's pretty picky with vegetables (I did this before she stopped pooping). I would think that should inspire more pooping, but I guess I'm wrong...Does this happen to anybody else?

Water is 75F and the basking area ranges from 87F-93F.

My guess would be she is eating it.

I fear this happened today. I saw some so I went to get something to scoop it out with (I need a net). Literally 2 seconds later, I turned around and it was gone and it looked like she was chewing

Quick update...I finally found a piece of poop. In the exact shape of a piece of algae wafer. I think I need to break them up a little better--maybe the shape and overall hardness of the wafers blocked her up. Now I'm the one giving her a guilty look.

LOL, no, George has never looked guilty for anything in her life. She's always happy. She used to sulk before her aquarium upgrade. But guilt? Nope. It was a huge log, too (sorry). Biggest one I'd ever seen (I don't usually see much/any at all.) Ick. Good thing she's not for cuddling. Her mouth would never go near me (except my fingers).

poop doesn't last more than a minute in my tank nasty little turtles
