General Care Discussion :: Something on the skin of my turtle

She is about 7 years old now. I just noticed this on her neck in the past month. It has gotten a little worse over the past month, but not too much.

What could it be?

Could it be fungus? Maybe a burn injury? Is it anywhere else? I've seen scabs/callouses develop and go away on occasion, but this is larger and darker than those.

This is the only place it is on her. How would I be able to tell if it is fungus? What would that be from?

Fungus can be due to low water filtration or lack of basking which would give the turtle a chance to dry out completely.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but fungus will often have fine filaments, almost looking like cotton, and can be white to a brownish in color.

I don't know about brownish fungus, but I think you described white fungus accurately.
