I just realized something about my Apples. After he gets a bath he sheds skin some. What is going on? Is this normal? could I be cleaning him to much? His skin looks good with not bleeding, cuts, redness, or anything like that.

If it's thin, translucent and wispy, it's normal. But can you explain his "bath"?

It is thin, translucent, and wispy. I cannot even tell if that it is there outside the water. I give him a bath once a week. I put a gallon to a gallon and a half of water in a tub along with a splash of viniger to kill germs. I let him stay in there 10 to 15 min. After words I gently clean him with a soft tooth brush. Lastly I rinse him off before I put him back or play with him. I read in a turtle form that was a good way to clean them.

I wouldn't use vinegar to clean the turtle. Try mixing and diluting in some aquarium salt or Betadine (don't let the turtle drink any of this) to use in a gentle scrub.

Ok! Why shouldn't I use vinegar. I have read on other forums that it is a good way and will not hurt him. What am I missing?

I changed how I do the bath and the shedding slowed way down. He is doing a lot better. I get what you are saying now. Thank for the help.
