so ive mentioned that my red eared slider has this white spots on his shell.its a baby.so i keep observing and realise that its not actually a white spot.its like a white circle outline on its shell.its a lot...like they spread.all looking like little circle outlines...its spreading to the whole shell already.what is it?is it shell rot or is it something else?so its basically like little circles all over my turtles upper shell.please leave a comment! the photo is here you can zoom it in so that u can see the little circles.thx! http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag1 ... myewff.jpg

I'm no expert on this subject.. Need someone else to chime in. It doesn't look like any of the shell rot pictures I could find. But then again I have never had a turtle with shell rot. So, I'm not sure what to look for when it first starts.

Mine have this too, I think that they are where the shell is growing. Both my hatchlings have that.

Looks mostly like an irregular shedding. As long as it's the topmost layer, I'd just keep an eye on things.

im thinking its shedding too...the bottom doesnt...only the top...and hes still super active but he doesnt seem to know how to swim...i got him for two months already but i put him at a shallow water ...only until his top shell.........then i tried to put him in a deep water...he seems like he didnt know how to swim...just stay at the bottom...if he wanna breath,he jz stands on his hind legs...coz my tank is kinda small.. gonna buy a new big one soon...so now im training him to find his natural ability to swim...haha ...he likes standing on his hind legs.

You can gradually increase water levels and see how he adjusts.

He should get pellets once a day, slightly less than the amount that would fit in his head. Then gradually decrease it as well. www.redearsider.com/pellets.html

Not sure where you read that. Most reliable sites go by the head rule.
Probably they are just going based off instructions on a can of turtle food which are horrible instructions.

I have seen several posts on tortoise sites about little circles like those. The answer is always the same. No one really knows why they are there, but their turt (or shall I say, tort) out grow it over time.
It's a non-answer, but so far I haven't heard of any bad outcomes.
They are just little mystery circles.
