As the title says.. He is bout 3 months old and he is really active i have put him in a little rectangular plastic container ( I don't know if that's ok or not) he is a great swimmer but every time it cold outside he sits on the rock and refuses to eat or swim. But when the weather is ok he swims really fast.. This happened before and he didn't eat but he later started munching those pellets again :D but now he has not had anything for 2 weeks i put some food but he didn't eat!!!! Wat do I do now ??????! :| :(

For hatchlings, it's important to maintain consistent water temps.. around 75-78. Is he kept outside?

My turtle started with a 20 gallon tank and moved to a 55 gallon. Both tanks had heaters to keep the temp even. They also had basking and UVB bulbs.

I have not noticed any difference in appetite.

Turtles are cold blooded. Their metabolism is dependent on body temp.

5 gallons is too small in any case, but it can also lose / gain heat quickly. If I had to guess, I'd say your turtle is slowing down when it is cooler.

You should read the habitat recommendations on the main site:
