General Care Discussion :: Baby albino has soft shell

So I have a baby albino RES that me and a friend found in the wild. I kept him and didn't have a uv light for a while. Now his shell is getting soft. I got a desert uv light last week with a power if 50 uv. How long until his shell will get better? It started to look kind of like the inside of a mussel a little shiny but just in a few places. Anyone know what this is and how to take care of it? I recently got another new baby RES and in hoping what Butters has is not contagious because I don't want Leo to get it. Any help?

Also when I cleaned out their tank the other day butters outer shell was very flimsy. What should I do?

Is he basking and are you feeding him right? What do you feed him and how much?

Right now a few pellets in the morning and tubafex worms when I get home. Yes he is basking.

Butters also has bad eye sight since he is albino and has a hard time feeding and Leo usually eats more than him.

Your turtle maybe lacks in calcium or Vitam D3. Poor diet or conditions.

What's the rest of his tank set up like? I would also be very cautious about using a desert-rated UVB and keep it further away from him.

They are currently in a 10 gallon tank in my room with about four inches of water. It has a filter on it and a floating basking area with an incandescent bulb fixed on it. I'm investing in getting them an area set up outside and a bigger tank soon.
