General Care Discussion :: RES Question, Please Answer.

I know Red Eared Sliders like to be out of the water to bask and lay eggs, but I like to take mine and let roam in my backyard garden section.
So the question is, why does she find ways to burrow her self? It's mid-May, but might she be trying to hibernate? I don't know, that's why I ask.

Her name's Wizard and she's roughly a year old
