General Care Discussion :: watering eyes

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

i usually let my turtle out like once a week to wander around the house. ive heard that your not supposed to but he seems to like it and ive done it the whole time ive had him (16 years), he always climbs on anything he can find, stares hungrily at our toes or basks in the sun by the glass sliding door. but today while he was roaming i went to visit him and while he was sitting infront of me i noticed his eyes were watering. ive never seen that before. Two huge human sized tears came out of his eyes. ive been keeping an eye on him for the past 5 minutes and they havent done it again since. maybe his eyes were dry?

I let one of mine out all the time to roam the house and she does get wet eyes. I haven't ever seen tears before, though, but I notice her eyes stay wet.
I think mine likes it too. :D
