Not getting rid! I somehow believe that he will live fully in natural environment!
So yeah, do they face problems later on while trying to gel up with other turtles?

To many turtles for that little of pond and the nutritional values are not clearly met. In regards to your question and if it was my turtle, I would have my own pond created. I gained some knowledge recently actually on how to create a above ground move able pond with a customized tuff tub to a toddlers swimming pool as the sand area for eggs and such. I am not sure if where you are currently residing, if the stores carry such similar products to think about but it is affordable. I myself even two or three years from now would not consider it to this location. Another possibility if you do not want your turtle 2 or 3 years from now and you are able to customize something that is not to expensive and works, how about a school or something where they can have your outdoor display in which you can teach the teachers on the nutritional food sources and have the turtle at their location for the children's education and enjoyment?

They are not keeping the turtles in that pond. As I said, any new turtle will be kept in the back end tank, about which I have no idea! They wouldn't even let me see it.
In my city/country, not too much emphasis is given to the care of this species of turtles. Therefore, no accessories available. Specially the UV light bulb.
This makes sunlight a huge necessity! I wish I had a small area near my house to build a pond(I would love to do so!)
Your idea of keeping them in a school is thoughtful! It'll work great if acted on properly! Thanks

You are welcome, it was just a thought on a child's education while being tended to properly of course with your knowledge , husbandry and care on the species. With such limited resources, could you not order the turtles needs from reputable reptile supply companies or dealers from other Countries? I know like England (being that I am a duel citizen to the UK and America), England itself is very much expensive with the pound (quid) and you pay the VAT tax. Frankly the dealers in the UK for the most part buy from America, Japan and China on the lighting goods, pumps and filtration. Japan and china dealers include shipping cost and the total price is very much affordable . That is just another thought for you if your sources are to limited.

Cheers Mate, I hope that all works out for you.

You can't control their social behavior and it's not possible to foresee what will happen. All you do know is that there is a potential for something to happen. Some people on this forum had their turtles get along, but once moved to a larger tank, those same turtles start to fight. It is not predictable, though I think any adult male RES should be kept separate from other RES. How long have you had your turtle?

I have searched a lot for the accessories for turtle in my city and the shops that import, but without success. As I said, the turtle owners in our nation aren't that concerned and involved with caring for them as they are in US and other nations.
No demand, no supply! This is why I turned to sanctuaries for help but even they are not up to the mark.
Anyways thanks!

I have had him since he was not even a month old. Since then he has been alone and doing well. I understand what you saying. Even I agree that he is too young to be kept in wild now. I hope that in his adulthood, I am able to get him to a naturalistic habitat.
I am thinking of getting another turtle from a friend for some days and keep it along with him, and see if he gets along. I'll supervise them.
When I got him, I was OK to keep him in a tank, but now I feel that I am denying him his natural habitat and freedom.
Anyways my new 50 gallon tank(15 gallon currently) will be here in couple of days. And he will have too much of space to roam around!
