Me too. Despite this is the third tub of ointment, I can't imagine what it would have been if I let it go.

How much have you been using/applying?

Well I have been using a Q-tip to apply to the affected areas. The dosage is to cover the spots, leave on for 30 min, and then remove (doing this twice a day). I have extended the exposure time to 45 mins to 60 mins per treatment as a test to see if it helps.

Well we're about half way done with the third tub and he's definitely better but not 100% yet. I kept him out of his tank last night (the water was atrocious, I must not have wiped all the ointment off at some point) and he was royally pissed this morning. We didn't talk for a little while but when I tossed his dinner in, I think we became friends again. lol

I catch your drift exactly. I'm glad Penelope is over her troubles. I will definitely give Sheldon a little treat although he really dislikes blueberries and carrots. I made a crap load of jello shots and he won't touch them. Therefore lettuce my be in order. ;D

hi cute panda. did you add tuna water to your jello shot? I initially made jello shots without tuna juice and my turt wouldnt eat them. when i added tuna juice he ate everything.

^^Sadly I did. I really think the carrots in there is what did them in. I swear he knows what is in those things. lol

maybe you can change the recipe a bit. more tuna juice, less carrot and substitute with other veggies. I use the water from 2 cans of tuna. I make sure the jello shot would smell of tuna. my turt likes cichlid sticks maybe because it smells like shrimp and the jello because of the tuna juice. good luck.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm near the end of this third tub of ointment and he's still fighting the fungus. He's frustrated, I'm frustrated. I have to call the vet tomorrow as I'm almost out of ointment again and I know she's probably going to want to see him. I have no problem taking him in but I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into this.

If it's not working then you just have to help him shed it off. I'm not aware of any other treatments that are effective, and in some cases the cream doesn't work. There are many strains of fungus, some that I believe are resistant to SSD. Hopefully there is a treatment that will work for him.

Make sure he has plenty of calcium, UVB... he should be basking frequently, and add some wheat-germ koi pellets into this diet. I would still continue with what the vet suggests, a treatment that is successful should provide results quickly.
