Fungus I get to deal with, but not shell rot. We had some other infections but they healed quickly.

Sorry, one more question! I was able to get some 4% Chlorhexidine-Gluconate solution--hopefully, it won't be as harsh as Betadine, and will speed up the treatment. What is the dilution factor? I've heard that the 2% version is 1:100, so would the solution that I'm using be 1:200?

Hibiclens is 4%, and that would be diluted down to 2% (doing 1:1 with water).

Do remember that this is a topical treatment and be careful that the turtle does not drink any of the solution.

Thanks for the information! So, just to clarify--I have a 4 fl. oz. bottle, so I should mix with the same volume of water?
I remember the topical solution issue; I plan to put the mixture into a small spray bottle, and put it on the shell that way. Is this a good method?

I don't know what solution you have but Hibiclens is pretty soapy. If I recall, I'd make the solution in a small cup and brush it onto the shell. Then after awhile I would rinse it off.
