General Care Discussion :: black spots on turtle skin

hi, i recently realised there are some black spots which look like poop that is stuck on the skin on my res, but i tried wiping it away with a cotton bud but to no avail. and i saw that my turtle's ear is changing a bit on the left side. the line that outlines my turtle's ear is changing as well. what is happening? photos will be up tomorrow, i only got to take the black spots, the ear i cant capture but i will try again tomoro thank you

from the photo you can see a little bit of the ear part, just before the neck, the line start to curve a bit

I'm not sure what it could be, is it all over your RES? Or just in the areas of the photo?

just this area, and some below the mouth.

it looks like poop that is stuck there, but i cant brush it off, plus my turtle keeps hiding into his shell. i cant really take the photo of his ear also.

Could he have rubbed his face against the glass?

not really, i just got back home actually from studying in another town. tried wiping again just now, cant get it off him, it's kinda like fungus, it is on the skin

i also realised one slightly lighter coloured circle on the shell as seen in the pictute

the white spot on the shell cant be seen when he's dry though

The light spot is just starting to shed. Whats the water/filtration situation like?

before this my filter isnt really working, so my mom would change the water manually every 2 days i think, and then now i bought a canister filter, i just havent set it up yet. will set it up later. my turtle's slin is shedding now, and i notice black coloured skin shedded off a bit

i mean i saw some black stuff floating in the water, so i guess it's that?

some of the black things have fallen off and became like this. not sure what it is
