General Care Discussion :: Hatchlings have fungus infection???!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Both my hatchlings have imperfections on their shell that were not there before. It looks like they scuffed their shell pretty bad. They like to hide under rocks and they move them around all the time, I'm wondering if these scuffs are from wedging themselves in the rocks.
Today I took one of them out to take a photo of their shell and the turtle opened its mouth at me like it wanted to bite me. It didn't make any noise and they've been acting normal, I'm wondering if I hurt it because the scuff on its shell is tender or something? Or is it becoming aggressive for a reason? Are they growing too fast?

The scuff on the vertebral scutes? It usually normal, but just keep an eye on it.
