Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi, this would be my second post here. This time it's about my turtle Luna. Sometimes she makes this weird sound, like a frog. She never does it while in the water, it's only when she's on the deck. It's also not just the sound but her behavior. I was finally able to record her doing it and posted it up on youtube.

--Are video embeds not allowed? I tried the youtube tags and it didn't work. At least, it didn't show up when I previewed the post.

Not RI and its not a common noise but does happen. Always keep a look out for other symptoms. Youtube is allowed, but they change their url shortners which the forum does not pickup on.

Thanks, I was worried about her. So her behavior is just her being weird? Sometimes it seems like she might be trying to bite her shadow.
Also, thank you for the embed, I appreciate it.

I guess its just being weird... sometimes they can also make a croaking sound like a frog. It just doesn't happen very often or predictably.

I agree fully with Steve , for sure not a RI issue yet a odd activity. Kinda cute though lol. Yes croaking would occur periodically for sure but other than that visually I do not see any other symptoms. I do see a smeared substance on the glass of the aquarium in the left hand top left of the screen which could indicate something but then again, I am not sure if it is inside or outside of the glass and the basking area pole that is there anyhow, I would feel that the turtle could not of put it there with it blocking it. Do let us know if it is inside or outside. Some smears like that could indicate illness symptoms such as mucus. Like I said, with the pole there, I am doubting it and inside or outside can help eliminate it further.

The smear on the glass is just dried up water. She climbs a lot and has a tendency to either squeeze between the deck and glass or try to climb up/out from on top the deck. She usually does it in corners and her wet feet leave marks on the glass. She practically dismantles everything in her tank during her climbing frenzy.
