My res is about 10 years old recently he has taken to spending almost all day on his basking dock. Water temp is 79F clear eyes, seems healthy is this normal?

It's possible she's not feeling well. Any other symptoms or behavioral changes?

no just sitting sits on dock will get in water for a bit then back up on dock. He is eating normally. if the water ph and nitrates are off could this cause him to stay out of water

Is there a chance that his UVB bulb is worn out and needs replacing? When was the last time you replaced the bulb??

What's the basking area temp? Has he done this before? Is he up there before the lights go on and is up there after they turn off?
