Raphael's nails have been really sharp. Is there any way i can file them down or something i can get her to try and round her nails out. Its getting bad to the point where she will walk over us and cut us with them :/

Don't cut them. What you can do is make the basking spot a ramp with a textured surface, like some slate. That should gradually file them down, but in a natural way.

I understand that sometimes handling RES is necessary, but they're usually more of a display animal. Wanting to cut their nails because they scratch during an otherwise "unnatural" human interaction time isn't very fair (in my opinion).

Turtle manicure. That's a new one! I agree with Jeremiah.

I don't handle my turtles that much. I handle them during feeding and to take them outside for sunshine. Not sure what your uncle might be talking about?

She enjoys coming out of the tank and she will walk away but when we arent watching she will come up to us and climb on us like hey your supposed to be watching me lol and all my uncle said was that his neighbor has a RES and she puts a white block in the tank to help the nails. I kept trying to ask him what it was called but he cant remember
