Hello, Only on site a short time. I just bought a 90 gallon tank on CL. Thinking of placing two 3" RES in there. Will they be okay in a tank that size? Don't want to do anything for them to get hurt or worse. Guess they are presently in small tub with not much water. So kind of want to rescue them.

Have a dock that sits on the top with walkway up to platform to bask. Have basking lamp that needs bulb. Heaters ready to go. Just need Fluval FX5 or filtration for the 90 gallon tank. What filter to get?

What say the folks of the RES site. Need guidance.

The Fluval will be just fine. In fact, for a tank that size, it will be more than enough.

The 90 gallon will do for now, but you will eventually need to separate the turtles when they grow up. In general, 1 inch of shell = 10 gallons of water. Female RES may get up to 12.5" (125 gallon tank), and males can get up to around 8" (80 gallon tank). This isn't always the case, but it's something you should definitely be ready for.

For now, though, your setup sounds fine. Be sure to provide the turtles with some kind of resting place near the water's surface.

That setup sounds fine. The Fx5 has been discontinued so you will need to look into the fx6. There are cheaper filter options. But I believe you get what you pay for. What kind of basking bulb are you going to use?

I have a Fluval 306 for my 75 gallon I only have 50 gallons of water in it but i would suggest a fluval 406 you can get it on a pretty good deal. They are easy to clean and its rated for 100 gallons and assuming your not filling your take to the tippy top it should work.
