so two days ago i got my res back from my uncle's as i went for a vacation and i have to send my res there. i realised that his tail is much thicker than before.yesterday night i saw a big amount of what looks like poop from his tail.then i popped up and the poop like thing goes back in the chloaca.i thought maybe he's constipated but i searched it up and it looks like fanning.but the thing is,my turtle is only a year old last november.tho my turtle is early on everything as admin steve said he was super quick to show his male characteristics even tho he is not 4 inches yet.he's only 2 inches .plus i think.his nails are getting longer but still quite short .is he fanning?or just caught pooping and decided to wait for privacy?thanks

I'm with Kansasslider. Can we get a tail pic? Though it would be funny if your RES was a shy pooper :)

yea,i had a gut feeling since i bought him.he recognises people really well.like he is on the island,if me,my bro or my mom(who sometimes go see him or tease him),he will jump down.but when my dad and sister who dont really give him attention at all,he is okay with them standing near when he is on the island.haha.he also likes to territorily fan his claws to little turtle toys i put outside his tank,if i didnt move the toy further and he keeps doing the dance,he will suddenly be terified of the toy and quickly swim away.haha.so that little guy is fanning?okay thanks so much

I'd think it was fanning. My turtle would do it when he was younger, I really don'y see it happening anymore.
