Hi, I am a very new turtle mommy. I have a young res that a friend "gifted" me. Koopa is a little over two inches long and lives in my 75 gallon aquarium that is filled about half way full with water (that has been conditioned) and is 75 degrees. His basking area is a pet store turtle dock that stays at 90 degrees with a uv bulb and a heat lamp. He eats turtle pellets and occasionally worms from my yard. He is a good swimmer and very active I recently put a cuttle bone in his tank and he loves it. Now to my question... Koopa's plastron seems to have a white or pinkish tinge to it in spots. It's almost as if its translucent. I am worried something may be wrong. It does not feel slimy or thin and there are no open wounds or sores.I would love some advice, if this is something wrong or just normal shell growth. Also if anyone can tell me a good amount to feed him that would be so helpful. I am so scared I am over feeding him. I give him 5 pellets at night and 5 in the morning. He has been shedding his skin a bit from time to time.
