So I've notice my turtles has been doing this weird thing with both their front legs next to their heads and swimming toward one another. (see Video)

My room mate said it's a mating dance. Can somebody confirm this?

It's fluttering. Could mean courtship or just being territorial.

thanks steve,

I'm pretty sure both my turtles are females. They've been fluttering a lot more lately probably due to the size of the tank, since 1 went out of commission and moving soon.

If that's your video, then yes, it looks like 2 females and that they've grown quickly. You might want to adjust their diet. Sadly, some female RES don't get along... RES are an aggressive species.

Yes, I have changed their Diet Drastically since Ive found this site.

Pellets once every 3 days and Duckweed/Veg every day except pellet days. Does that sound correct?

I'm hoping after the upgrade, the fighting will be less. Trying to feed them separately lately, seems to help a bit.

I give pellets every day but in small quantities. So I think you can do any combination, though I do make sure they have some veggies every morning.
