Hello, my 3 year old RES has been biting his own claw recently. A few months ago, he was doing the low calcium spasm but I replaced his UV bulb and he has been fine ever since. Lately though, he's been biting himself. Anyone else experienced this? Does he just thinking it is a passing fish or what?

Is he biting as in chomping of pieces, or what?
I am not sure what you mean by "low calcium spasm" -
If he isn't causing any damage, it could just be a temporary habit; if it continues or if he starts biting out his claws, that is another story altogether.
I'll vote for a temporary habit.

My male RES bites his claws in the middle of the night. I can't explain but I can't stop him from doing it. He hasn't hurt himself, but in his previous tank he would bite other things, to the point of chipping his beak.
