General Care Discussion :: Updates: Red spot, Yellow Spot

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Thu Feb 20, 2014 5:03 pm   Updates: Red spot, Yellow Spot

Red spot continues to be healthy and active, although it seems (s)he may be over eating a bit. Food intake is has been reduced. Red spot has gone from 6grams upon obtaining to 14 grams as of this weekend.

Yellow spot is still a concern. (S)he is active and alert spending more time than red spot in the basking area but also spends a good amount of time swimming too. Appetite seems fine, is especially fond of freeze dried blood worms(these are dessert after (s)he has finished the pellets). I haven't seen yellow spot trying to cough in a while, however weight from first time till now is from 6 grams to 7 grams.... shell has not appeared to have grown even the slightest either.

Are they kept together and fed at the same time or separately? I agree with cutting down a bit for Red.

They are kept together. I have a strong feeling that they are both female. Of course that's just a feeling. I keep an eye on their interactions. They are fed separately in a smaller container.
