Hey there....

I have a 2 yr old red ear slider and he just moved to a large 50 gallon tank from 10 gallon. I placed 4 feeder fish in with him as he seems to enjoy following them around. The feeders seem to eat the bottom sludge, which I suppose is good for tank cleaning. With the turtle possibly having pyramiding issues, is the feeder fish not good to have? He may eat them as I have read.

Any advice is appreciated.

4 small fish should be fine. They'll make great entertainment until your turtle catches them. I wouldn't use too many feeders until you get the pyramiding under control. You may want to start introducing green veggies to your turtle.

I agree with devilduck here. Always feed less pellets when you can.

Thanks... his pellet feeding has been limited and we've using small amounts of Romaine lettuce to snack on. Any particular green veggies that are healthy ?

Romaine is good... just mix it up on ocassion. redearslider.com/plants.html
