General Care Discussion :: Fresh Water Salts?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hello,
I have a 6 month old Albino RES and am wondering if a little fresh water salt would be okay for her tank? From the information I can find the fresh water salts are good for fish and crustacean tank mates as they add nutrients and help prevent some illnesses like fin rot. But I’m not able to find any information on if the salts will irritate her skin, or be just as good for her as they are for her feeder fish and ghost shrimp.
The instructions on the salts say to add only one tablespoon per 10 gallons. So the salinity isn’t near as high as a salt water setup.
Any ideas are helpful :)

It probably won't help much but wouldn't hurt to use any either.
