Urgent Care :: OMG!!! THERMOMETER BROKE!!!!!!!!!

I don't know when it happened, I don't know how. I think that Vien might have broke it since she likes to bite on things, but she seems fine. I threw the thermometer away, and took Vien out...I don't think the glass cut her because she's still swimming and doing everything normally, but I am worried about uranus poisoning. I don't think it came out, but the red stuff was open. What do I do? MY mom told me to wait till she gets back and we might take Vien to the vet, but she comes home at 8, and I don't want anything to happen to Vien. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I think you're referring to mercury poisoning, from the red stuff right?
Luckily, if you have the top fin glass one like most other people, those don't contain mercury, so you're safe on that part.
Check vien for cuts, that'd be my main concern, and be sure to get all those metal beads out of the tank so that she can't eat them.
Watch her for the next few days and if she appears sick, then I'd call the vet.

Also, for the future, you may want to buy a digital thermometer, they're pretty cheap at places like petsmart, I think mine was under $10.

Oh thank you so much.I'm so worried about her. Yea it was the top layer, the little layer was bumped, but it doesn't appear to be broken...I checked for cuts and I don't see any, and from now on, the only things that I will be keeping in the aquarium are plants, basking deck, and a filter and heater in winter...again, thank you so much.
