Her RES is about 12 inches...She set her on top of her new habitat for a minute and turned her back...She feels horrrible but Morla fell off onto the dirt ground and a couple peices of wood. She is acting fine but she has a tiny spot of blood on the back of her shell. The Vet is not an option right now for her...Is their anything else she can do for her? Will it heal itself? Can she pick up some reptile wound repair from the petstore? She feels horrible but Morla's been hurt...Thanks for any replies.

you can use some iodine to clean it up some and just watch her for a while

Question: Is there actually a wound on the turtle's back, or was drop of blood from somewhere else and you just saw it on the turtle's back?

Well I went out and investigated tonight and she did have a little scrape on her shell but it had stopped bleeding and she looked good. Healthy.

Hey, from experience, I know your friend feels terrible about this. The larger turtles just fall SO hard. I agree with what people said here already....The good thing is that she fell on her shell rather than on any of her limbs. The healthy BIG babies have very hard shells (as well as very hard-heads, LOL!) so as long as the shell wasn't cracked in any way & she only had a little scrape, then chances are she will be ok (prolly just "shook up" over the fall). Keep an eye on her over the next coupla weeks to make sure she isn't bleeding from the mouth/nose. Also make sure her appetite is the same (stopping eating is never a good sign). If she is eating voraciously then you should be in the clear.
