ok i dont know whether to be scared or to think its cute.

my turtles were basking, pebbles and flippers jump off if they see people. well i walked close to them, pebbles jumped off. but flippers eyes were closed and couldn't see, he tried to open em, but he couldn't, is it too dry for them? he tried blinking but the eyes wouldn't open, then he rubbed it and then he opened and saw me and jumped into the water.

i understand they get dry in the basking area and they blink, but this time flippers couldnt open his eyes right away and he seemed like he was in trouble.

Do his eyes look swollen or red? What's the temperature of the basking area? What UVB bulb are you using, and how close is it to the basking spot?

If the basking temp is too warm, or if the turtle has been basking for a long time, his eyelids could have become dried and stuck together. Check the temp of the basking area (should be 88-90F).

Can you post a pic? It would be helpful to rule out swollen eyes, it might be an eye infection.
