my baby turtle, fat albert, has a pale looking shell. it looks like scum or someone scraped the spine of his shell. the scum looking stuff blocks the pattern on his scales. it started as the where the spine looked like it was scraped, and know, the scum looking stuff is all over his shell. he doesent act sick, he is mostly hyper as usuall.

-ive seen him sneeze, but only about 5 times, but know he dosent anymore.

-my other baby turle, arturtle, was sick and know better from medication, but arturtle didnt have the same pale looking shell efect like fat albert. arturtle acted pale, fat albert looks pale.

-also we took our turles on a trip in our motorhome and it was kind of cold, so that may have been the cause.

-Also fat alberts mouth looked a little red.

- he vomited only once, but i think its beacuse hes such a fat pig he ate too fast.

that doesnt sound too good, but i still cant give any conclusions as to what he has. but if your turt's mouth is red...that is definitely not a good thing...i'd bring him to a vet for a checkup asap. as for his shell, it kinda sounds like shell rot.

Can you give us a photo of the turtle's dry shell? This would help a lot.

now that his shell is dry from basking it looks like the 2nd picture but less white. is this shell rot?

and if so i just hope its not a shot med. because our other turtle got sick and we had to give him a shot. it was so sad seeing a little baby turtle opening his mouth and closing his eyes during the shot:(

In the second link (this is picture 2 to you?), the turtle doesn't have shell rot. If you gently rub at the scum with a q-tip, does any come off?

What's the basking area temp and water temp in your turtle's tank?
