Help  My Red Ear slider lost its nail. One nail on its left hand and another one on its left foot :( It lost its left foot nail first. I thought it'll grow back soon, but then it didn't. Then later on it lost another one on its left hand. Is this some sort of disease? Will he die? How can i help him?

How is he losing the nails? Is he biting them? Is there any bleeding or skin ulcers or discolor? If you can, post a pic......

I assume that some of the other turtles bit him...

The left hand nail kinda came off when i held him in my hand.. as for the foot... it might be the other turtles.

There have been a few biting cases recently... do you know how he can get better? Its not a disease right?

I've never heard of turts that young biting each other, but I suppose it's possible...I don't know of any disease that could affect him like that. I say keep the water clean and keep an eye out for infection but it will probably heal on its own.
