my turtle i got has pink spots on his belly idk what it is.can i buy a cream to put it on his belly cuz im not gonna spend money on a doctor for a 6 dollaer turtle he is doin 0k though he is eating all his chicken and has alot of space in his tank what r the pink spots?

If you dont want to spend money to take your turt to the vet, give it to someone who will. Who cares if it cost $6... it still needs care and even if you dont want to provide it, its still suffering. Do you have all the proper equipment he needs? Like proper lighting? Filter? Adequate tank? Heater? Do you know what kind of diet a turt has? Chicken isnt very good. Why dont you read the stickys on how to care for your turt properly. If you have any questions, just ask us.. When people buy a new turt, they dont always know how MUCH money it costs and how much care it really needs. I know I didnt.. so just look at all the threads... this site is very helpful!

How big is he? How long have you had him? How long has he had these spots? Can you post a picture of his plastron (belly)?

no turtles dont need filter or heater jus fish i have him in a 5 gallon tank with 2 inchs oh water and a rock i feed him chicken and thats it.but i want to keep my turtle it not affectin him so it doesn matter i just need something to make the color go away i had him for 3 months i dont got a camera he had them for 2 months

If you don't care whats best for your turtle, why do you care what the spots are and how to get rid of them? Its obvious but your "I think I know more than you do" attitude, that you truely don't care whats best for your turtle. Best advise I can give you, find someone who cares more or take them back to the store where you got them from.

dont tell us what your turt does or does not need. you are WRONG.you need to have 10 gallons per inch of shell... so you need at least 10 gallons! Im sure your turt isnt bigger than a couple inches, because it would be dead already with the "care" you are giving. Do you know how big your turt will grow, that is, if it lives longer than a year? I doubt it will with the care and attitude you have. Turts grow up to 12 inches which equals 120 gallons of water!! The water temp must be 75-78 degrees. You need a basking platform where he cant completely dry out his shell everyday to prevent bone disease. You need a basking flood lamp and UVA/UVB lighting. You need a filter, turts are dirty. You THINK you dont need a filter because your PATHETIC tank can be dumped in two seconds and then filled up in a sink! You need a proper diet. NOT CHICKEN. If you really care about your turt, WHY DONT YOU LEARN HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT. Your turt is going to die. Go ahead and let a poor suffering animal die due to your NEGLIGENCE. I hate ignorant people who think they know it all. You came here for advice, why dont you take it... take your turt to someone who cares.

You should stop feeding the turtle chicken. Buy reptomin pellets and at least fill up the tank you already have if you refuse to buy a bigger one. The turtle may have septecemia which is blood posioning and is fatal without vet care. So perhaps you'll do yourself a favor and not buy a new $6 turtle when this one dies. Buy a pack of cigarettes or something, with the way you take care of this turtle the cigs will probably last you longer.

Just because its lived for a year doesn't mean its lived well. Look at the homeless, they can live and survive on the streets with no home or very little food, but what quality of life do they have?

Its our responsibility as pet owners to provide the best environment and care for our pets, if you don't want to do that, there is no point in owning one.

a hundred dollars? ha... I've spend about $500 -$600 on my turt already, and I've only had it for a few months. But, its my responsibility. No one wants to help you shark because you DONT care. There is no cream. You need to take it to a vet. It probably has septecemia which is blood posioning. Its going to die. Gee I wonder how it could have gotten sick??? HMMMMM.

a turtle can live for 20+ years, 1 year is nothing... i bet i could keep u alive for a year feeding you bits of chickin while u sat in a refrigerator box but i dnt think u would be Happy, do us all a favor and give ur turt away to a good home....ur not a very good pet owner

Lets put Mr. Shark in a tiny closet, feed him chicken under the door... We wont let him see any light. No heat. No cleaning up his crap.. We could let him suffer. And then, when he gets really sick, we will look for a nice cream to rub on him.. forget a doctor, its not worth the money!

Just because you spent $6 dollars on something means it's not worth taking care of? You sir are ridiculous, obscene, asinine. Do me a favor real quick. Go walk over to your poor at best setup and look at your turtles legs and arms, do you see the webbing between their toes and fingers? This means they can SWIM, holy crap what does that mean? They need more then 2" of water.

Go to any site, ANY site and i dare you, and look up RES care. You will find the only time they don’t need copious amounts of water is when they are newborns. After that they have mastered the art of SWIMMING and STAYING UNDER WATER FOR PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME.

Why did you buy this turtle can i ask? What would possess your to take the life of another living thing and not take care of it. Ya know initially, all it takes to have a kid is one night of fun. No money spent, just some of the birds and the bees. So the kid started out as free, will you not pay for its care? A little extreme i know, but it gets the point across.

Dude a visit to the vet is $60, and a lil extra for meds. How do you look at an aquatic turtle in your current setup and not feel bad? Hell I got my turtles for FREE from my ex g/f and they are both very small, but as you see in my sig, they are living in a proper environment, i wish you'd do the same, and i bet you'd get a lot better response from everyone too...
