Have you tried feeding him something smelly like tuna or shrimp pellets? Sometimes these can entice a turtle to eat.
Also, is he making any gasping sounds with his mouth on the platform? Are there any unusual signs like mucus or swollen eyes?

try bumping the temperature up to 82,excessive basking can be a sign of a respiratory infection, and if it is you should look up a vet and take your little guy theyre.like megcornell said...is he displaying any other symptoms? if he has not eaten in a whole month that you've got him somethings wrong.have you tried dropping the pellets in and leaving the room,or dipping the pellets in tuna?

thank you for your reply.. I had tried giving him fresh chopped prawns .. it was a very small piece, i was not sure if he would eat it but he took a small bite out of it now he is not eating prawns too.. should i give him bloodworms ?.. he wipes his mouth as if someting is there .. when i put him in water he will not look at pellets and leaves heads towards the basking platform..he does not have mucus .. i dont think he has swollen eyes.. will try to post a pic

bumped the temp to 85, i will try leaving the room with pellets in.. he has two goldfish and one fighter fish with him.. but they do not seem to bother him.. should i seperate them ?

i cannot take him to the vet .. i talked to a vet friend of mine who is not an expert in turtles..he told me that it is illegal to keep turtles in india.. the vet would report to the authorities and they would take my toto away :( ..

Please help .. i will do all i can

they can stay a month without eating i think.85 is too high, try 82.
try feeding him pellets dipped in tuna or something smelly, pellets are more nuitritious than bloodworms.well that sucks,if your little guy DOES have a respiratory infection or anything else it will not go away by itself, you need a vet.respiratory infections are fatal and never go away by itself, alot of people lose they're turtles to this illness even when they take them to the vet.
i hate to say this but maybe you should go see a vet anyway and tell him you understand the law but you atleast want him to save his life, its the least you can do..im sorry,it must be hard for you.

Good work, glad to hear you went to the vet! Very responsible. Let me ask how much was the final bill? Good work, and i'll keep my fingers crossed.
